the show amounts to spectacle and the clothes are merely

Whether you shop at Bergdorf’s, Barneys, Bloomingdale’s, Saks, Forever 21, H&M or Macy’s this coming Fall,  all eyes are on the European collections for Fall which end today.  What is seen here will either be bought as it is shown or will be reinterpreted to meet a price that suits the clientele of each particular store.  Looks, trends and silhouettes are determined on a “per store” basis.

With my new found powers of observation when it comes to the modus operandi of Marc Jacobs and all his collections, the one for LV is surely the most extravagant and possibly one of the more bizarre.  Keeping a level head when reviewing this, one can safely say that it is a good thing that people flock to Louis Vuitton for their pebble grain plastic handbags and status symbols and not for wardrobes.

Marc has never been shy of stating his references or inspirations so that’s my assessment of them.  What you really have to marvel at is that these clothes are beyond costly, thank god they are only sold in LV stores, and that some of them, not many, are quite wonderful and even some might be feats of amazing artistry.

In total, the show amounts to spectacle and the clothes are merely the window dressing and the buzz for this mega brand.  You might be thinking that this sounds like Dior and Galliano but Mr. Galliano is not as lucky to have been pumping out accessories at the same pace as Vuitton and if Dior was in the same situation, then the outcomes of the not so distant past might have been different.
