Donatella Versace sent her fall 2011 collection down the Milan Fashion Week runway yesterday and it gave Versace fans exactly what they were expecting; form fitting clothing that is anything but shy. Versace also created one distinct handbag for the fall collection, the soft and slouchy hobo bag. The Versace collection included many versions of the little black dress with one shoulder necklines, asymmetrical lines and body conscious styles. In addition to not-so-basic-black, bright colors such as purple, yellow and red graced the Versace runway. Donatella paired a slouchy and soft hobo with luxurious and structured garments, creating an easy luxury which could be worn during the day or early evening. The slouchy hobo featured small quilting and a gold pattern. The handle was short, allowing the hobo handbag to be worn on the forearm or handheld. The traditional Versace Lion anchored the strap to the handbag, giving the bag a distinct Versace look. The hobo was shown in both winter white and black with a golden pattern. There was black, solid colored, patent leather version on the runway too. The slouchy hobo was a fresh surprise on the Versace runway which traditionally features more structured and dressy handbags. The slouchy hobo was a an important trend on the spring 2011 runway, the appearance of the handbag on Versace’s fall runway showed the staying power of the style from spring into fall 2011.
