Roberto Cavalli fall 2011 Milan Fashion Week handbags

Roberto Cavalli showed his fall 2011 collection during Milan fashion Week today and it was a stark move away from the highly embellished, lightly colored boho-chic collection he showed for spring 2011. The fall 2011 collection had an evening, dark night vibe that fused luxury and goth darkness together. Roberto Cavalli also created a handbag collection which was also more streamlined than in spring; focused on varying materials and creating an investment piece for the season. Roberto Cavalli’s fall 2011 collection included soft and luxurious fabrics such as sheer silk, velvet, short fur and long flowing hemlines. The fabrics were layered and thin with silhouettes long and flowing. The color palette was dark with black, deep burgundy, deep brown and metallic bronze as the dominant colors in the collection. The occasional light beige paired with burgundy and silver or gold tones appeared on the runway; but only in one to three garments. The main handbag on Roberto Cavalli’s fall 2011 runway for Milan Fashion Week was the small Lady Bag with a detachable shoulder strap. The handbag featured one top handle and either a flap closure or turn lock closure on top of the bag. The shoulder strap was detachable and allowed the satchel to hit at the hip bone. The handbag was shown once in vintage, deep brown leather as a large handbag; otherwise, the style was small and not much larger than the hip bone itself. Roberto Cavalli showed the Lady Bag in either exotic, solid colored leather or python. There were also two tone color combinations on the runway with brocade fabric or embroidery that one would find on a vintage knitting bag. The handbag was shown in black, deep brown, burgundy and golden fabrications. Soft and smooth leather was paired with embroidered fabric or python; adding texture to the bag. The Lady Bag on Roberto Cavalli’s fall 2011 runway is an easy investment in luxury for handbag fans. The handbag can fit into two trends at once; the long strap shoulder bag and the Lady Bag. The smaller size of the bag is also right on trend with the move towards a petite handbag.
